Welcome to the 2010 “Big Game Battle" website. This summer’s tournament will be extra special. It is our 9 year anniversary! Who would have guessed that after starting with 3 boats we now have almost 30 boats and we continue to grow. We especially want to thank our participants and sponsors who really make this event happen. In addition, the Crew at Cap’n Toby’s, where we host our captains meeting and award banquet/dinner has been especially accommodating.

This summertime event is an offshore sport fishing tournament held on the history rich Island of Nantucket. We will fish East or South of the Island for a wide variety of game fish from bluefin, yellowfin, albacore, mahi mahi, blue marlin, white marlin, big eye and more. The Nantucket Boat Basin is centrally located to fish these waters. The Island also boasts an active night life. The hospitality of the Dock Master and Professional Crews has been most accommodating since the inception of this event in 2002. This is not a "money" tournament. We do support the competition between the boats and crews. However, our most important goal is to have a fun weekend away with friends and come home with many memorable stories. This year the Big game Battle will turn into a charitable event. Each year the tournament committee will choose a foundation to support with the input from each boat captain and crews. This year's event will support the IRSF - International Rett Syndrome Foundation. Rett Syndrome is a devastating developmental disorder that is first recognized in infancy and seen almost always in girls, but can be rarely seen in boys.
